There’s something about dining at a smallish, round table. Bigger than a café perch, smaller than the traditional family dining table, this trendy hybrid shape is really catching on.
The Splurge: Eames Round Table, Design Within Reach, US $1,149.
The Steal: IKEA Docksta Dining Table, $229.
The lovely thing about a round table is that nobody’s miles away from anybody else. Very communal, and great for heated arguments about politics. The other benefit of roundness, is that if one needs this table to moonlight as a work table (hello, loft dwellers!), it’s a dream to work at but doesn’t read as “officey.”
