Until recently, adding storybook magic to a kid’s room involved either knowing a talented artist or possessing a way with stencils, fabrics or some other frighteningly crafty décor intervention. But now, wall decals are making all of the difference — and more of the fun.
The Splurge: “Tree with Two Owls and Butterflies” decal set, SimpleShapes via Etsy; $76
The Steal: “Jungle Jill” wall decal, Carter’s (via Sears); $19.99 US
Yes, these decals are more or less everywhere now... but there's a reason for that, so I say don't hesitate to join the party. They're available everywhere from big box stores to the Mecca of online ‘clever-with-my-hands’ sites, Etsy.
I think no kid’s room should be without a few lions, trees, monkeys or other natural world icons, looming large. (Better still: changeable with a quick rip!)
