I’ve seen it time and time again: my friends design beautiful homes, fill those homes with gorgeous furniture and then sacrifice it all to their pets.
Is it wrong to invite an animal into your home, love it like a child, but deny it the right to enjoy their home the way you’d allow any other member of the house to? I suppose so. But if my partner started clawing at my furniture, or shedding all over it, I’d probably insist he sit on the floor (with a cozy mat, at the very least).
In my mind, it comes down to respect. If pets can’t respect my exquisite blue velvet love seat, they lose the privilege of sitting on it.
But maybe I’m wrong. Or maybe I just need a hypoallergenic dog.
Tell me, do you allow pets on your furniture?
