HGTV.ca Original Series: The Green Geek with Julia Black

You may recognize Julia Black from her days as Samantha Pynn's assistant designer on the eco-friendly design program Pure Design, but she's also a self-professed "Green Geek." Julia's days working on the show only fueled her passion for green design, renewable resources and living life with the planet in mind. Earth Day is April 22, and to celebrate, Julia and I have produced four webisodes crammed full of information on how to live a greener life and how you can incorporate green design into your home.

1: What You Should Know About Gas Emissions & VOCs

Julia explains VOCs, gas emissions and how you can eliminate unhealthy materials from your home.

2: Upcycling and Reusable Decor

Julia talks about upcycling and how to reuse items in your home decor. She visits her favourite salvage store and shares DIY ideas.

3: Water and Energy Conservation

Julia reveals startling facts about how wasting water and energy costs you money.

4: DIY Headboard From Wooden Skids

Julia makes a DIY headboard out of found skids and salvaged wood.
