With only a few weeks left of summer you might be getting tired of the same old colours in your back yard, so why not give your patio an inexpensive punch of colour that will transition you from late summer into early fall?

This summer, gorgeous bright pinks, blues, greens and yellows captured our gaze, but as the weather cools down deeper hues are beginning to emerge and they are the perfect inspiration.

Take a few minutes to look around your garden. Perhaps you have some Crimson Pygmy Barberry; the deep red leaves glisten in the sunlight but don't overwhelm. Maybe you have some Blue Mist or a Butterfly Bush, the dark blue and lilac flowers add a punch of colour without competing for attention. Nature is the perfect inspiration for your patio, try to incorporate the colours from your garden into your decorating.

Start off by clearing the garden of damaged foliage and lifeless flowers. Cutting back the old plants will add extra vibrancy to the new colours sprouting out. Pick up some complimentary trays, outdoor place mats, throw cushions and a rug in the richer hues for an instant update.

Although summer may be winding down, outdoor entertaining doesn't have to come to a halt. By making these slight changes every outdoor party you throw will look and feel totally different!
