Today’s mood board features a look inspired by the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, California. It’s quite a minimal approach to design, yet it manages to make a strong visual statement.

When you’re in a space such as this one, the smart and seemingly effortless design makes you feel relaxed and inspired. Why wait to go on vacation to feel that way when you can so easily feel relaxed and inspired at home? A main component of this look is minimalism. Don’t overcrowd your space -- white space is good.
It’s about a careful selection of the items that you choose to put in your space. I’ve been seeing Kilim pillows and rugs quite a bit recently and I’m a huge fan. I love looks that revolve around accessories. It makes it easy (and affordable) to change things up when you grow tired of it; you won’t need to replace any big items, like a sofa or dining table.
If you live in a place where this look is not weather-conducive (which you probably do if you live in Canada), you can definitely take this design indoors and apply it to your living room or ideally, a sun room if you have one… how cool would that be?!
If you don’t want to splurge on a marble-top tulip table, Ikea has a great alternative called the Docksta.
Choose your colour placement wisely; small pops of colour won’t overwhelm the space. The punches of deep reds and browns are balanced out by the large amount of white.
