Buckingham Palace is elegant, luxurious and the epitome of royal class. Although it is truly amazing, the design is far too over-the-top for the abodes of us everyday people. We can, however, take some inspiration from this look and apply it in our homes for a touch of sparkle and extravagant fun.

Taking one or two cues from Buckingham Palace and contrasting them with other styles can provide you with a chic, eclectic look. Hanging baroque wallpaper on a feature wall or in an entrance way makes a strong statement and sets a tone for the space. Unlike the constantly rotating original pieces of art work by artists such as Rembrant and Rubens used in the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace, you may choose to decorate your walls with more permanent and affordable art work; but it can still wow and inspire!

Take a vintage traditional chair with curvy lines and re-upholster it with a funky, modern and geometric pattern; it will provide a really fun contrast and give the chair new life. One large, daring gold picture frame or an over-the-top, wild crystal chandelier is a great way to make a bold statement. Just pick your moments and choose one or two design trends from Buckingham Palace to create your own personal royal dwelling. Be careful though: choosing too many Buckingham Palace-inspired trends will make your home appear overly feminine and formal.
