Today’s mood board is all about being on the up and up — and up. This mountain aerie is a gorgeous, light and bright modern cabin with a dash of mid-century flair.

I love the mix of light bed linens and sofa fabrics with fur throws and pillows; this contrast provides the space with a nice balance. The ceramic light fixtures and serving bowls have that special quality of perfect imperfection that can only be summed up by the Japanese aesthetic term wabi-sabi.
The chair in the bedroom and the two chairs on the left in the living room are Hans Wegner designs. It is extremely difficult to find mid-century originals for a bargain price, but you can definitely keep your eye out for good-looking knock-offs (or decide to splurge on an original, if you really love it; if you decide to do so, it would most likely be a piece of furniture that you will love for many years).
The Danish mid-century dining table is simple, with straight and clean lines — a beautiful backdrop for the wabi-sabi items showcased upon it.
Of course, nothing says rustic cabin quite like a wall-mounted deer head. If taxidermy is not your thing, there are awesome alternatives, such as the resin deer head in the mood board below.
To achieve the look in these photos, keep things simple, natural and light. Pick your moments to add a darker colour, such as a feature wall, and a handful of accessories.
