Here’s a fun and punchy dining room that manages to be playful without being immature.

The charismatic colours and textures here create an interesting and dynamic composition; in particular, the yellow chairs really tie this look together for me. A bold decision, to have such a bright colour in your space — but sometimes it’s exactly what you need. If you look at “the look” photo and cover the chairs with your hands, the space seems muted and far less exciting. I applaud this courageous design choice; it really works!
For an easy and affordable way to create a feature wall and give the room an overall mood, paint one wall only. Here, the stunning dark gray mixed with the light and funky orbit chandelier seems to suggest that this eating space be used in the evening, ideally paired with inspiring late night conversations over bottles of wine.
I first saw this room’s gorgeous Moroccan tapestries on my friend Jessica Marx’s blog, Life’s Little Jems, and I’ve been a fan of them ever since. I have always loved wall hangings but the colours and textures of these ones simply cannot be matched. Again, the dark gray wall makes a statement, in this case as the perfect backdrop to showcase such vibrant colours.

With a dining room like this, you will want to host dinners with your friends every night.
