Benjamin H. Frederick is the genius behind the Hydro Hammock, a hammock and hot tub in one. In combining the two, he created the most relaxing piece of equipment known to man and addressed the major flaw in each: hot tubs are so soothing, you could easily fall asleep in one, but you absolutely cannot nap in a hot tub. Hammocks are ultra calming, they lull you to sleep with their gentle rocking, until the cool Canadian breeze jolts you awake and the netting cuts so hard into your leg your left with a diamond effect emblazoned on your thigh. By joining forces, the hot tub and the hammock could negate each other’s flaws.
The Hydro Hammock was designed using resilient and waterproof tensile fabric. It can hold up to 50 gallons of water and support the weight of two adults. It’s equipped with a portable water heater system that runs on natural gas (though plans are in the works to design a model that runs on battery and solar electricity). Benjamin created a Kickstarter campaign and has currently raised $14,133. Hydro Hammocks start at $2,430. Watch the video below!
