Mark’s office and library
Is it just me or did Four Houses Canada sex it up a notch? I’m not solely referring to Mark’s incessant innuendo or Maureen’s stretch, black vinyl ceiling, but Mr. Narrator got off a few racy sound bites in the voiceover as well: on Catherine’s “you don’t need a man for everything; you can DIY” comment while in her bedroom: “You better be careful or that’s not all you’ll be doing alone in the bedroom…” Right? RACY!

Mark in his family room (thankfully we’re saved his lewd back-scratcher that occupies the coffee table in the show).
Altogether a squirm-worthy and hence totally compelling episode last night. And Mark was NOT my choice for the win. I would have chosen Catherine. She made that tiny condo pop with her bold upholstery and earnest DIYs. She maxed it out. Plus, she served cake.

Catherine’s bedroom and kitchen (this is not a split-screen – her bedroom is separated from the kitchen by a sliding door.)

I know everyone was probably down on Maureen’s ‘funeral home’ as Antony gaffed out, not even batting an eyelash, but I like old homes. It was as far from stylish as one could get, but there’s something to be said for decorating wholly outside the present. Call it morbid curiosity.

Antony’s home had an interesting feel and layout about it, but the Zen thing is so not for me, especially when spread peanut-butter-thick all over every room, as condo-Catherine noted. Still, Antony’s odd fastidiousness was quite entertaining.
