DIY Vintage Wood Crate Shelving

Posted by Editorial Team Thursday, March 17, 2016 10:12 AM EST

Creating storage at the cottage can sometimes be an obstacle when you have minimal floor space – but storage doesn’t always mean it has to be a bulky piece of furniture or a towering bookcase. Here we utilized vintage wood crates mounted to the wall to store books and board games.

1.) Find some old wooden crates or ask a nearby apple orchid if you can have some newer ones that you can stain and make look old!

2.) Using a drill, screws and some metal angle brackets attach the bottom of the crates to the wall – finding a stud to drill into when possible!

3.) Add some cottage amenities inside like board games and books so that they are out and visible for guests to access.
