DIY: Envelope Liners

Posted by Renee Elliott Monday, April 28, 2014 9:04 AM EST

Whether you’re mailing a letter or giving a birthday card, it’s always a nice touch to personalize a piece of it to make it extra special. The envelope is the first part they open, so why not get creative with it?

  • Printed paper, coloured paper or paper doilies
  • Tracing paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Envelopes

STEP 1: Open the flap of your envelope and place a piece of tracing paper on top of the envelope. Trace the flap and along the edge of the pocket. Cut out the shape.

STEP 2: Place your shape on the paper you will be using as your liner, trace and cut out.

STEP 3: Glue your liner in place on the envelope.

For the doilies - depending on your doily you might not be able to follow the steps exactly. To maximize the most out of the doily follow the natural shape of it and cut to size to fit on the envelope flap.
