The finale of Season 2 of Sarah 101 ended with the complete makeover of a bachelor loft, followed by a baby nursery reinvented into a safari adventure. I was thoroughly entertained (and taking notes) with Sarah and Tommy's crafty ways in their effort to be resourceful and fiscally responsible, yet stylish! What did you think of the end results? As per usual, let's chat...
First up, a bachelor's loft with virtually no furniture or decor to work with - essentially a blank canvas in which a downtown city chic transformation was the goal...

For me, there are so many things I love about what became of this loft. The wood frame deco club chairs along with the dining table and chandelier are probably amongst some of my favourite furnishings I've seen on the show. I think the colours and fabrics used added great warmth and energy to the space, but I could see how the polka dots are stretch for some people, (which it was for this owner). At least they're just cushions you can change out one day!
What do you think of Sarah's creative and inventive DIY wood backsplash in the kitchen?

Next up, a nursery for a baby boy that needs to be functional from infancy stage to the toddler stage, in a relatively small space...

Tommy came up with wanting to take this baby room on a safari, incorporating themed elements for a chic and sophisticated but cozy nursery. And I, personally, feel it worked out amazingly well. This is a nursery fit for a baby boy or girl, and one that mom and dad can love being in. But I'm not sure how the zebra wallpaper will stand the test of style time, but it works within this context.
I love how Sarah made the wooden egg mobile above the baby's bed, and found the chair for free on the street and had it reupholstered and made into a rocking chair - smart, cheap and uniquely its own!
Tommy felt passionately that the safari theme is going to be the next wave in nursery design... do you agree?
