Do you take chromotherapy into account when decorating your home? Do you even know what chromotherapy is? I didn’t—until recently!
Chromotherapy, also known as colour therapy, follows the principle that colours determine a person’s energy balance. According to chromotherapy, the colours that surround us can effect us physically, emotionally, as well as mentally. This means that the colours we choose to paint our walls with or the shades of decor we choose to buy can have a daily impact on how we feel.
The colour red, for example, is said to energize and stimulate, but can also represent stress and danger. Blues are believed to be calming, but also symbolize the unknown. Grey is said to be both positively and negatively neutralizing.
That being said, the colours of your walls don’t always have to determine the motif of your room. Depending on the decor you choose, aggressive red walls can be romantic, baby blues can be sophisticated, and neutral grey can be modern. It's all in your design aesthetic.
So, you tell us: do you take chromotherapy into consideration when decorating your home? Do you believe that a wall colour can determine your health and happiness?
