It can be really helpful to have a few affordable DIY ideas in your arsenal, and pallets can get you through a good number of design dilemmas, if you're a little crafty. Plus, pallets are cheap (free, in some cases)!

A word of caution: Finding any pallet to work with (from the grocery store or the back of a warehouse) may not be all that great for your health; many pallets are treated with chemicals. So, if you want to air on the side of caution, you can buy new (or recycled) pallets online at a very affordable price point. And, these pallets are heat-treated, as opposed to chemically-treated, so they'll be much better for interior use.
