Discuss: Sarah's House 4, Girl's Bedroom + Bath and Craft Room

I have a feeling this room did not disappoint. We got a tweet from a 24 year old gal who declared the girl's bedroom from last night's Sarah's House, fit for her dream room. And we say, no shame in that!

I'm not sure that anything about this room limits its appeal to early teens -- the fabrics and patterns are perfectly contemporary and the cream backdrop is a no-brainer. Would you say this room transcends age groups?

And, ah, a craft room? LUXURY! I'm not sure I've seen enough craft rooms (only craft nooks) to properly critique the merits of this one, but how about you hardcore crafters out there? Does this craft room curl your ribbons?

Oh the girls room... with all the talk about a toile-like application of the polkadot, in the end, the room failed in its attempt to be at all toile-like (so I'm not sure why they kept all the banter about toile in the final cut of the episode - made no sense). The room was bo-ho for sure - I would of loved to see her show off the coverlet and make better use of the indian-inspired print - they were both so much more interesting than the polka-dot. The ensuite was very cute although, the vessel - not my fave type of sink.   The craft room was a good idea (even better would've been to add a sink for easy wash-up). The cabinets & tables were killer - I would totally love a room like that in my house!

The colorful disc's that you put in the Girl's room are Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Signs . They have differant meanings. Some are to ward off evil and bring good will etc.Jacob Zook is a well known artist of Hex Signs.I was surprized Sarah and Tommy did not know what they were .

The only way I can watch this program is on-line and it hasn't yet made an appearance....why?

What's up with the map of the US in the girl's bedroom.  Did Sarah forget where she lives?

Why are the episodes not online???

I agree, the episodes need to be posted online sooner.  Last week they were up in a timely manner, let's hope it'll be the same from now on!

I LOVE this room. The pop of colour on the ceiling is so playful, and the neutral walls, carpet and bed frame make every hit of colour just reach out and grab your eye, but there's flow and harmony to the colours, so it's not busy. Very skillfully done.

I thought the girl's room was lively.  Not restful, but then its for a young girl or teenager, not me.  I liked the craft room. I even liked the use of blue in that room.  It worked there.

I have always liked a multi-color scheme, and this is a way of doing it almost neutral, if that makes sense.  You are almost left wondering if that room is neutral or multi-colored!  I quite like it.  Perhaps I can do my love of colors in a more subdued way like this.  As for the craft room, I really like the paint on the ceiling.  I have always liked interesting, beautiful ceilings instead of boring stucco.  The craft room reminds me that I need to do the baby book for my second child!

The craft room was great, although I might have liked the use of more than just blue. The girls room disappointed me though. I really liked the orange ceiling but I didn't like the polka dot fabric, which ended up feeling a little blah and forced. Also, the tile in the shower of the ensuite was not timeless and will date the space.

And, what is with the USA map? What Canadian kid would want that or find that useful? That was just plain stupid. A world map would have been fine, or a Canadian map.

The only thing I wondered about was the magnified light that was attached to the storage at the wall instead of the worktables where it would have been useful when working with crafts?  No plug in maybe? oops

I love the girl's room! It's such a 'happy' looking place without being wild with the punches of bold colour.

I just don't get why the issue with the map? It was colourful and whimsical like the rest of the punchy elements. They brought in a few other other-cultural elements...

I'm glad they left the polka dot fabric as a faint inspirational starting point instead of applying it everywhere like originally planned. I love the journey of a design. Always interesting to see where it ends up.

I haven't actually been able to see the episode yet but from the pictures I love the girls room. I love pink and orange as a combo. Though, I do have trouble thinking of this as a teen girls room i'll be honest. that may just be because when i was a teen my walls were covered with posters.

The craft room idea is kind of awesome though this particular scheme just doesn't quite hit the mark with me. though, perhaps if i had a room like this like Laura, i would also finally get around to getting my second child's baby book done too!

I loved the girl's room ! the colours of the different objects with the neutral colour of the wall makes this room happy and cosy!

The  craft room ... I don't know!... I don't think I like it!  As much

the decor in the bed room is very  appealing  as much the craft room do not attract me!  Frederique James

I agree they have to be on top of posting these episodes!

I live in BC and Sarah airs a 5pm and midnight!  What the heck??  I'm either at work or asleep!

HGTV!  Bump the silly Dina show and repeat Sarah earlier in the evening!!

I love everything Sarah!  I used to watch HGTV all the time.  It was my background noise at home, but now I only watch Sarah.  All the other programs are (in my opinion) not very interesting. What happen to HGTV Canada?

I love Sarah Richardson but what's up with all this retro stuff...maybe she should listen to Tommy a little more instead of overriding him all the time!
