Lunchtime Fix Photos: Sarah Richardson Bathrooms

Lunchtime! Best part of the day -- you eat a little, surf the 'net a little, enjoy some gorgeous bathrooms a little (more like a lot!). In keeping with Bathrooms month and following our Canada Day Lunchtime Fix photos highlighting red and white rooms by Sarah Richardson, I bring you bathrooms from Sarah's House and Sarah 101.

Sarah's House season 1: A dark vanity anchors a neutral palette; light-as-air pendants blend into the space.

Grey and aqua shower tiles complement the turquoise curtains and accent pieces while adding pattern, colour and contrast.

Still season 1, this kids' bath has touches of whimsy in the curvy mirror and texture in the vanity's basket weave pattern. An accent strip of tile proves that a little detail goes a long way.

Last from season 1, Sarah demonstrates how a small powder room can have large impact with a custom tile "rug" and a leggy vintage sink. A skinny mirror and lengthy sconces work to make the room seem even bigger.

Moving on to Sarah's House season 2: the round mirror, sconces and sink bring softness to a crisp, cool space. Alternating tiles in the shower create another point of interest and a touch of colour.

Sarah's House season 3, the farmhouse: there's plenty of storage in this family bath which serves the parents, too. Two antique dressers become twin vanities and a large glass-front case keeps towels and necessities organized and out of the way.

Sarah 101, Classic Ensuite: a striped tile treatment in the shower, along with the detailing on the floor make this space unique. Sarah loves creating custom vanities from vintage furniture and this bath gets a great mix of strength from the vanity and softness from the filigree-inspired mirror.

Which bathroom is your favourite? We love to hear from you!

Comments:

It's really a toss up between the master ensuite in season 1 and the family bath in season 2, but if I had to choose, it would be the family bath in season 2 because of its gorgeous vanity. I dislike the family bath in season 3 and the "classic ensuite" from Sarah 101. There is nothing classic about that.

I agree with Katie about Sarah 101 bathroom.  I hated it actually (first time I do not like Sarah's work).  I thought it looked awefully cheap.

The makeup area would have been ok in another bathroom

Absolutely beautiful, all of them.  Her latest the classic ensuite, I also loved, I love the ones with color and the serene creamy ones.  With each you get a different effect.  I understand someone enjoying calmness and serenity.  I wish she could do my whole house, go to it and I trust her judgement totally!

I loved the Classic Ensuite but I understand the objections. The point of that episode was to show us how to achieve Sarah's look out of a hardware store which is how many people redecorate.  Instead of converting a dresser she bought one and it just doesn't have the cache of a converted dresser.  However I just redid my powder room and I hired a cabinet maker to converted a dresser which he had never done.  It was difficult to coordinate the plumber, counter top people and the carpenter.   Most people would be intimidated by the process.   It was totally worth it though.  You just can't get the look with a brand new piece.   I thought she and Tommy went overboard praising the vanity too.  I just isn't that special.  It is handsome but I don't care for traditional pieces that look showroom new.   I did love the stripes on the tile though and everything else.  The drapes behind the tub are gorgeous.  I did that in my master bath and used an indoor/outdoor linen look fabric and I love them.  I don't think regular fabric would hold up well if you use the tub everyday like we do.
