I hope this story is NOT an April Fool's joke. Though the facts certainly hold no big surprises... A Russian billionaire, Yuri Milner, 49, bought THIS unfathomably sprawling property in the heart of Silicon Valley -- Los Altos Hills, CA -- for $100 million.

The home is approximately 30,000 sq ft, and was custom built by architect William Hablinski over a period of six years for the vending party, Fred and Annie Chan.
The estate reflects a Loire Chateau style, sits on 18 acres in the hills and lists all the bare necessities for its standing as a luxury property: ballroom, screening room, wine cellar, gym, spa, pool; inside and out, and an entryway rotunda flanked by staircases on each side.
What the chateau cost to build remains undisclosed, though Mr. Chan admits to completely blowing the budget.
So, is it the most expensive home sold in American history? One of: Donald Trumps gets in on the action with the sale of his Palm Beach mansion to another Russian magnate in 2008, also for $100 million.
I wonder how many rubles $100 million US works out to?
