It's been raining like crazy here in Toronto so when I saw these bright and cheerful photos from our latest Party of the Month, it made my dreary morning. Event planner Marla Brown's party ideas are simple and inexpensive, but the details are what make them entertaining gold.

The premise is simple; invite a few friends over to make fun and easy crafts and serve some quickie finger foods (no cooking required!). The colour combination of hot pink and orange brings the party together, but you can go with whatever works for your home. Adding details like coordinated napkins, flowers and comfy throw pillows will make any get together feel more polished.
Marla's party craft is a great way to use up old ribbon and trim, but it's also inexpensive to go to a good dollar or craft store to stock up on cheap picture frames.
