While in New York on a recent content-gathering trip (see photos of an amazing multi-million dollar home here), Vanessa and I had the delightful opportunity to meet and spend the afternoon with Grace Bonney, founder of the successful blog Design*Sponge.
Isn't she cute? That's her at left in the Brooklyn home she shares with her hubby, and which serves as the hub of her growing empire (she has over 100,000 followers on Twitter!). Look for a peek inside Grace's home and Park Slope neighbourhood coming soon. We asked Grace to share her thoughts on current trends in the video below. Here are a few of the things she mentions:

Vintage-hunting is still on trend, and really, is more a full-fledged design style now. Demijohns are the large, bulbous glass bottles used for oil and wine, great for making lamps or for display. Vintage boxes and crates of all kinds can be used for just about anything an imaginative, design-minded person can dream up.
What do you think of Grace's predictions? Have you embraced the vintage/modern mix?
