Colour of the Moment: Lime or Lemongrass

Clockwise from top left: Farrow & Ball's dragged wallpaper in new shade DR1299 (see 1249 & 1250 too); Farrow & Ball's Tunsgate Green paint; From the Green Market palette from Pantone's fall 2010 home trends; Sarah Richardson for Para Paints, Citrine; IKEA Mammut Children's Stool; Anthropologie Flamenco Shower Curtain; Crate and Barrel Allerton Twin Sleeper; Anthropologie Apple Pancakes Apron; Urban Barn Edna Embroidered Cushion Cover; West Elm Big Sur Duvet Cover + Shams

If turquoise was the colour of 2010, I predict that lime green will reign in 2011. House Beautiful magazine declared Quince (part yellow, part green) their colour of September, colour experts Pantone included the shade in their 2010 trends for home and HGTV's own Sarah Richardson included a shade called Citrine in her Designer Palette for Para Paints.

A quick peruse of my favourite decor stores and wall colour retailers revealed only more lemongrass in bedding and pillows and even furniture.I love Urban Barn's Edna pillow and think it would look lovely on Crate & Barrel's Allerton chair — which comes in this totally palatable shade called Spring. Much more appropriate for a major piece of furniture than say the cheerful colour of Ikea's Mammut stool.

What do you link of this colour? Is it worthy of a wall or just an accessory?

I love this colour. I have once had a wall in "japanese fern" which was an acidic lime green and i loved it. I have lots of little accessories left as well.

This is my absolute favourite colour, and has been for a few years now. We are renovating the main floor of our house, and I am considering using this colour for a backpainted glass backsplash in our kitchen, against modern white cabinets and some walnut accents. Still a bit nervous about introducing this colour in this way. However, if we chicken out, then it will still feature prominently in accent cushions, etc.

Am dating myself by saying I've loved that acid green since the '50's! Have it now on one wall of a very white kitchen. I'd not do anything permanent with such a bold color, much as I like it.
