Earlier this summer I was in New York City for a couple of work-related conferences. So, naturally, when any of us here at hgtv.ca are out of town on business, or otherwise, we are on the lookout for amazing hotels to cover for the blog.
Gild Hall is a Thompson Hotel nestled in New York's financial district, only a few minutes walk away from Wall St. This room was definitely designed with the businessman in mind -- lots of dark wood, marble, leather, a flat screen TV.
The hotel bar is a comfortable and stylish place for a cocktail with clients and the adjacent hotel lobby decor isn't all that shabby either: bookcases of leather-bound volumes, leather couches, a chess set, and, of course, a chandelier fashioned out of antlers.
It may all be rather manly, but I loved my stay here. Despite its high ceilings and spacious layout, the room was cozy and warm, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
