Poster Frames for the Indecisive Set
As the rule goes, once you pass the age of majority you must frame your posters. Only teens thumbtack Starry Night reprints to the walls. Don’t agree? Then I’ll never look at your walls again. Never. You’re wall-less to me now. However, if you do agree, then check out these new poster frames I came across from a firm called Soundscreen Design. The simple functionality is what caught my eye. It would be easy to get your prints up and even easier to change them out when the mood should strike. Strangely, they also sort of remind me of those cheesy roll-up calendars (except those cheesy roll-up calendars also remind me of the mystical land where decor goes to die).

Well Read and Stylish All Over
Nope, that title does not refer to my dream man, it's a description of this trend I've been noticing: classic books given a design-savvy makeover. The stories remain the same, but the dust covers are all of a sudden hip and stylish. These would make a great gift and look really cool on your coffee table or displayed somewhere as an object d’art. The Icoeye Jacket + Bookmark’s set is so whimsical (FYI, the designer is all about iconography, and the wannabe graphic designer in me loves her even more for that), but the Penguin’s recovered classic series takes my heart for pure nostalgia.

Your Biggest Fan
Straight from the Museum of Arts and Design Store (not to be confused with the Museum of Modern Arts retail outpost, which is also awesome), this fanned-style bookend could be used for its intended purpose (to keep your volumes of Steinbeck from toppling over, or my esteemed collection of VC Andrews tomes), but it’s also a stylish little mail sorter, no? Yes, it’s expensive, but that’s because it’s carved from a single piece of ash wood, not some metal doo-hickey "someone" swiped from the office supply closet.
Have you got a New & Now tip for us? A decor find you'd like to share?
