Splurge vs Steal: Sale Alert! Don't Snooze on These Hammocks

Crate & Barrel; Canadian Tire

There is arguably nothing better than lounging outdoors on a beautiful summer's day. Taking in some well-deserved R&R, curling up with a good book while feeling the warm breeze…oh how I love summertime!  And really, what better way to treat yourself then with a classic swinging hammock?

At Crate & Barrel (above left) you’ll find a traditional hand-woven hammock made with a weather-, stain- and rot-resistant, modern rope, that feels as soft as can be. It can be hung between trees (or some variation of vertical supports) but you can purchase a hammock stand if you've a nice, flat surface on your property.

This hammock holds up to 440lbs, and comes with Brazilian teak spreaders and an easy cotton storage bag. Regular price, the hammock and stand are $249 and $200, respectively, but with summer in full swing, they're both on sale at your local Crate & Barrel for $199 and $170.

Canadian Tire offers a wonderful alternative: a 100% cotton hammock with wood spreader bars and steel fasteners to hang on vertical supports, that can hold up to 330 lbs and costs only $49.99!

Can't order from Crate & Barrel online... looks like I'll have to make a road trip to TO from Montreal.
