Did you watch the premiere of season 3 of Flipping Out last week? No matter what you may feel toward our anti-hero, Jeff Lewis, the show's third season has been highly anticipated and is undeniably a hit. Really what Flipping Out is, is a reality-based DRAMA (all caps required), packaged with a little bit of real estate, a bit of renovation and a healthy quotient of style.
The house-flipping, order-barking, possibly certifiable Jeff Lewis is certainly more than most of us could handle for a boss, but just admit it: he's totally entertaining! His freakouts deploy some of the most creative off-the-cuff insults I've heard, and the cast of characters he calls his staff provide the perfect supporting roles: executive assistant, Jenni Pulo -- undying devotion; partner Ryan -- voice of reason; Zoila the maid -- comic relief (she gets pretty sassy this season!)
I spoke to Jeff on the telephone a few weeks ago and not knowing what to expect, put my helmet on, so to speak. But you know what? He was perfectly pleasant and easy to talk to, not to mention very forthcoming about all kinds of details regarding his business. It would seem his flipping biz was hit pretty hard, and Mr. Lewis has decided to try his hand at interior design: Jeff Lewis Designs (see images in the interview montage.)
