Trend Focus at Las Vegas Market, Episode 2: Jane Seymour on GLAM

We're rolling out our recent escapade to the World Market Center Las Vegas!  Monday we posted our first installment of Trend Focus, a series we put together at one of North America's largest to-the-trade furniture markets, where retailers come to see what's new in the world of home furnishings

Well I'll tell you what was news to me: Jane Seymour, Furniture Designer.  Yep, Jane Seymour the actress, the saucy mom who was after Owen Wilson's character in The Wedding Crashers, is in reality seriously concerned with design.  Her 1000-year-old estate in England has her in love with antiques, and her stunning gardens have inspired her to paint.  She makes jewelery, and really, it was only a matter of time before she teamed up with a furniture designer to try her hand at home furnishings.

That designer was Michael Amini, a figure known for opulence and extravagance with whom Jane created a portfolio of collections, among them Hollywood Swank.

Oh it's swanky.  So much so, that we used it as our jumping off point to focus on one of the more prevalent trends at Las Vegas Market: Glam.

Glam was everywhere! Here's the short list for what to look for when attempting to bring glam home, but for the illustrated version, see our little video below!

  • Art Deco influence
  • Reflective surfaces and mirrors
  • Bold graphics and colour schemes
  • Large-scale lighting and furniture
