Book: My Mom's Thoughts on Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts

 

Quilting started out as a very personal project for my mom. After my father passed away, she stared at a closet full of his clothes for a year and had no idea what to do with them until a friend of hers suggested making a quilt

When Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts came across my desk, I thought it would be a great idea to have my mom give her thoughts on the book. She's been quilting for about 10 years now and whips off baby quilts in her sleep for any pregnant woman within a hundred mile radius. She loves it.

So, what did she think of the book? It's pretty, but is it practical? Here's what she had to say:

I love this. My favourite part is when she takes you to task for all these darn impractical books... "You bought me another book like this!" And there is nothing sweeter than the reason your mom got her start as a quilter. Just lovely.
