This month HGTV has been focusing on green. This Flickr run, I decided to focus on a few R's of our own: refresh, refurbish and reupholster! Some of our members are consignment shopping, finding some durable, reusable pieces and bringing character into their homes.
Refresh With Paint
This side table from It's
Great To Be Home has a lot character with its sexy legs and solid curvy frame. The punch of chartreuse makes it a fresh and clear focal point without going overboard.
Restore With Elbow Grease
Joe Drogos did the amazing restoration above. The dresser was found in an alley, stripped of its stickers, covered with a lacquer and stained more than once. The cost? The materials and a little sweat. Impressive!
Reupholster To Give New Life
pinkylarue found a vintage wooden dining set with modern lines and updated it with brightly colored leather seats.
Furniture with a story is always intriguing in any space. It’s a bonus to the planet that reusing, refurbishing or reupholstering is environmentally friendly.
