I don't do Spring Cleaning. I do Fall Cleaning. I like to be outside in the spring and summer and the house kind of goes into a more casual mode. In the fall I start the Holdiay Grand Plan

and clean my way up to Christmas. It works out great.

I do a big cleaning at least once a month, including tossing things to charity. This has mostly happened since we moved into a very open concept loft space that looks perpetually filthy. However, I like trimming the fat from time to time and I feel fantastic about it.

I am one of those strange beings that actually really loves to clean. I mean love it. As long as I can do it my way, which means no interruptions, good music and lots of time to devote to getting it done right. Since I rarely have time like that any more, cleaning has become a chore. I rely heavily on a wonderful cleaning lady who does a great job, but still never quite lives up to my extreme high, and I'll admit, harsh, standards.

This weekend I took four hours of out my Saturday afternoon and cleaned an entire floor of my house. We also took about four bags full of stuff to Goodwill. It was fantastic. Can't wait to tackle the next floor next weekend!

I try to keep my house "sell ready" all year round but in the spring and fall, I do things like, wash the screens, polish the hardwood, take all the cushions off the furniture and put them in the dryer with a fabric sheet to refresh them.  Purging the linen closets, and going through all the clothing and getting rid of anything that was not worn during the season that just passed are also part of my routines in spring and fall.  

I use to be a major pack rat but found the Fly Lady website a few years ago and it seriously changed my life.  

Now if I could be just as organized with the paperwork in my life it would all be good ;-)

I do major cleaning when i am in the mood no such thing as spring cleaning if i feel like cleaning my walls thid weekend the i will do it.
