Hurricane collection, West Elm; 8" diameter, $29, 12" diameter, $59, Garden Stake, $19; Abra Hurricane (far right), Crate & Barrel; $109
The only kind of hurricane you’ll be wanting in your backyards
this season is the kind that emits a soft, heavenly glow: the hurricane
lantern. With this year's early start to springtime, the buzz around
outdoor decorating is positively booming, ambient lighting being one of the key components to creating the perfect oasis.
Use these intricate accessories to light a backyard pathway, set
the mood at your next al fresco dinner party, or entertain a romantic
evening outdoors. The Perforated Metal Hurricanes from West Elm bring a silvery glimmer to your space and at $29 for the small and $59 for the large, can be combined in varying
sizes. If you love the perforated detailing
as much as I do, you might also go for the complimenting Garden Stake,
$19.
For those willing to splurge, the Abra Hurricane at $109 from Crate & Barrel is a definite showstopper.
At 9” diameter and 17.25 " high, the romantic, Moroccan-inspired design comes in a zinc finish and includes a
removable glass cylinder as the candle chimney. Though eye-catching on its own, spreading a few around your garden will no doubt elevate any backyard to a fairy-tale setting. Let
the hurricane season begin!
