I guess the concern with going "green" can sometimes be the bore factor in furniture design; neutral, devoid of personality but good for the environment. But there are options, and very innovative ones that are emerging constantly. HGTV's World's Greenest Homes has been featuring these finds since its first season, but our Flickr users are a good sign that people are catching on.
The Natural Touch
The wicker chair, left, comes all the way from Turks & Caicos in the British West Indies. It's common to find wicker on the islands but cosmo_girl's wicker pod has a secluded appeal that would be great in any nook right here in Toronto. On the right is one of many creative pieces from woven by primuss -- this sectional could comfortably seat a party of green enthusiasts. I'm in !
Eco-Bedroom
Not all eco-friendly pieces have to call attention to their rugged materials. Above, MAZZALIARMADI.IT has an example of eco-friendly interior design that is on the rise. The frame is made from solid wood cut from "well managed forests" that are certified to ensure they comply with environmentally sustainable practice and principles.
Green Furniture
Timber furniture is mostly traditional and neutral but reclaimedhome shows that being concerned with your carbon footprint doesn't mean you have to compromise on style. This could easily fit into a modern space with a touch of the new low odour, zero VOC emissions, paint or stain.
