Live Blogging Tonight: Marriage Under Construction, Episode 7

Finally, tonight on Marriage Under Construction, Nat and Rod start work on their spa-like master suite. After living in what the couple call the frat house for what I'm sure feels like decades, I'm sure they'll be thrilled to get a move on with a real, private, spacious bedroom. Natalie has some pretty lofty expectations, will the room meet her needs?

Our own Elana and Alicia recently got a private tour of the new bedroom with Natalie and Rod as guides. Stay online after the live blogging to watch the video right here on Style Sheet!

While you wait for our tour of the bedroom, why not join me to discuss the show? The live chat starts at 9pm. All you have to do is click Make A Comment at the top of the box below -- it will appear once the live blog starts. I'll also be Tweeting the most interesting comments, so follow us on http://twitter.com/hgtvcanada. Looking forward to chatting with you soon!

there is no mention of money like Dan says? there seems to be no stress over where to spend or anything. seems like they get everything free (real reality)? didn't seem that way in previous seasons when i watched.

Perhaps their designer was able to maximize their budget.....   :)

There is definitely a budget here.  My job is to spend money wisely and recommend sources for products and materials that save money without compromising on style.  Apparently I did that well, as everyone thinks this was a luxurious renovation!

Did you know that I found the tub faucet and arched window at the Habitat Restore?  A little bargain hunting saved us well over $1000.

Another tip is to buy local.  I used a local carpenter and designed using inexpensive materials and details.  The vanity, bed frame, tub box and mirror were custom made for only slightly more than Ikea prices.

The luxurious tub is made in Waterloo by Caml-Tomlin!  You don't need to spend allot to look like you have.  You need to make educated selections.

I'm thrilled this is coming across so expensive!

You all need to dream bigger because a small budget should never be a limiting factor.  Those projects bring the greatest creativity and charm.

Have you been to the Habitat Restore or the Sale Outlet at Stone Tile?  Dream big and shop smart.

I so agree with what Melissa says. My husband and I are re-doing both our master bath upstairs and our 3 pce bath on the main floor for around $3500 just by making smart choices like keeping our oak cabinets and just replacing the counter tops with granite/sink all in-one and doing the labour ourselves.

It's fun! and we save $$$$$$.  Yeah you may have to shop around a bit more for those deals but its worth it in the end.

And don't forget to inquire with your town/city/government for rebates on installing eco-friendly toilets and washer/ dryer etc. we got back $120 for putting in our 2 new toilets. So shop smart, a lot of the liquidation places have home reno stuff at a fraction of the prices.

That's my two cents!! LOL :-)
