New Winter Shows and Returning Favourites!

Happy New Year, readers! January brings new shows, seasons and episodes of your returning faves, so let's get started -- what show are you most excited to see?

New Shows

House of Bryan: Premieres Thursday, January 7th at 9pm

Disaster DIY host Bryan Baeumler is tearing down his family’s modest 1,000 square foot bungalow and building a 4,000 square foot dream home right before your eyes. With the help of skilled professionals, keen apprentices, some surprise visitors and all under the watchful eyes of Bryan's family, we'll be part of the drama as his old house is demolished to make way for the new House of Bryan

Agent Vs. Agent: Premieres Wednesday, January 6th at 8pm

Take one couple searching for a new home and introduce a handful of agents all trying to sell them a house. The race is on. This is HGTV’s first show where agents are pitted against agents to get the sale. We see their aggressive behaviour, cut throat strategies and the tricks they do to get what they want.

Bang For Your Buck: Premieres Tuesday January 5 at 9pm

Bang For Your Buck has the concrete answers on remodeling value and how to get the most out of any renovation budget. In each episode, three homeowners from the same city renovate the same room of the house with the same budget. After the renovation, experts determine the value of each home, dramatically revealing whose remodeling choices were good investment decisions.

Weekend HGTV Specials: Sundays starting January 10 at 5pm (and Saturdays at 12am)

New weekend timeslot featuring brand new 1-hour HGTV specials, as well as some of our favourites from past marathons. First up, the House Hunters Guide to House Hunting.

SO SO pleased to see a new Brian Baumler show and SO SO SO glad to see more Homes Heist coming.  Missed Collin and Justin this last while.  They are awesome.  Wish there was something new with Sara Richardson too.  Brian, C and J and Sarah - my favourites!

I miss the design inc. team with Sarah Richardson. Not a fan of Colin and Justin . Would like to see another Canadian team do design. I am sure we have lots of talented teams out there.

January 4, 2010 10:29 PM

Thanks for your comments! Just to clarify, there is not a new season of Colin and Justin's Home Heist. We will be running old episodes early on Sunday mornings. By returning shows, we mean shows that will be returning to air this season, but not with new episodes. Sorry for any confusion.

Where have all the gardening/landscaping shows gone? Too many "fix it up" and /or consrucstion type shows.  Isn't this called Home and GARDEN television????

January 5, 2010 4:36 PM

Will Sara be returning any time soon?

January 5, 2010 9:46 PM

When will the new season of The Property Shop return?

January 5, 2010 10:46 PM

I love HGTV.  Bryan Baeumler is just an awesome guy with a big heart.  He is so entertaining and I love his wit.  Keep up the great programming HGTV.

I'd really like to see more Sarah Richardson :(

January 6, 2010 12:06 PM

Happy to see that the Ambrose Price show is returning.

January 6, 2010 2:06 PM

Whatever happened to Peter Fallico?

January 6, 2010 2:44 PM

So pleased to see Location, Location, Location returning.  We're really looking forward to seeing Brian Baeumeler's new show, but can do without Million Dollar Listing - period.  Any chance of a new Sarah Richardson show - she's awesome.  Also can we expect to see any more of the Design Guys?

January 6, 2010 6:03 PM

Well, folks, your Sarah Richardson wishes are coming true! There will be a new Sarah's House coming later this year, so stay tuned for more Sarah and Tommy!

So disappointed with this line-up.

I am please to see the New Bryan show, but really, there is too many reruns.  And I was disappointed that this news-release was posted the day of the new season?? Not good enough to get people excited.  Maybe for the Spring season in April, you can posted it mid March.

Yay for Million Dollar Listing :)

Also, what happened to Property Shop - you didn't answer.

And get rid of Carter Can and Designed to Sell - both are very boring shows. Lisa Laporta is a hack designer and Clive Pearse's annoying voice makes me turn the channel.

January 8, 2010 1:48 AM

I am a new Sarah's house viewer and find her inspiring as we are just embarking on some renovation projects.  Any chance that we in Australia may download her videos maybe in the form of podcasts or even perhaps purchase the videos as i have missed most of the shows.  Please consider!

I really like Brian Brameular's new show and look forward to the new house progressing to finish..He is a funny guy. always liked his DIY Disaster show.

Regarding Million Dollar Listing show, I think this is a rather frivilous show and is meaningless to anyone here in Canada.. We dont act that way and its just a waste of air time to me.. dumb show

January 8, 2010 6:26 PM

Thanks so much for more Sarah's House.  I love Tommy and Sarah together they make everything fun and informative.  Love Million Dollar listing and more than happy to see the boys from LaLa Land handle the recession.  Brian's House is a welcome addition and I believe you folks at HGTV are doing a great job rounding up new shows for us, keep it coming.

January 13, 2010 8:03 AM

Bring back Peter Fallico.

January 13, 2010 10:13 AM

Coming up Linda. Peter's Home to Flip will be airing with a new season in the Spring.

January 13, 2010 12:49 PM

Wish there were new shows of Design Inc.  Love Sarah's House episodes but also REALLY enjoyed Design Inc.  I could do without Million Dollar Listing -- too far out for me.  Can also do without Ambrose Price.  I didn't think he should have won the competition and am not willing to watch a whole show of him.  More Sarah and her team, less silliness please.

January 13, 2010 3:25 PM

Big fan of Peter Fallico, Sarah & Tommy,( are so enjoyable to watch, we need a little humour in this pathetic world of ours).

January 13, 2010 11:34 PM

Would like to know if Sarha Richardson and Peter Felico are comming back and if so when.

January 14, 2010 12:23 PM

I Mary-Lynn, yes!  Both are back this year; Peter Fallico with a new Home to Flip season in the Spring, and Sarah's House sometime after that.

January 14, 2010 2:18 PM

So happy to hear that new episodes of Sarah Richardson is coming...looking forward to that, although I would really like to see new Design Inc episodes - really informative and enjoyable to watch! Love the House of Bryan show!

Not liking Carter Can and Million Dollar Listing - both very boring shows!

January 27, 2010 12:27 PM

What happened to World's Most Extreme Homes?  Is it not returning? I really enjoy World's Greenest Homes as well, but is that the replacement show for WMEM?
