Live Blogging Event Tonight: Marriage Under Construction Premiere

Marriage Under Construction

The premiere episode of the third season of Marriage Under Construction airs tonight and we're pretty excited about it around the office. The new couple, Rodney and Natalie look quirky, cute and really quite funny. They start the season renting a room in a house they call "The Frat House" because it's also inhabited by a bunch of Rodney's clean-phobic guy friends. Rodney loves food and owns two successful restaurants while Natalie is a health nut and marathon-runner. The couple have their sights set on a house in Toronto's trendy west end with a budget of $600,000 and the enthusiasm for some pretty extensive renovations. For the next 13 weeks, we'll have the pleasure of watching this couple create their dream home — hopefully with their relationship intact.

Join me right here tonight at 9pm ET/PT to watch and chat about the show. Can't wait!

ya, i know what you mean Kenn.  they really are the scum of the earth.  who do they think they are driving around the city looking for a fair deal on a home.  that's the worst sort of people i can think of.  lol!  they're hilarious!!

i love it when my wife leaves it on this channel and something entertaining actually comes on.

this has been the funniest show on hgtv  to date.

that dude will put mike holmes to shame if he can hammer in a nail.

I have to agree with Kenn.  Who selected the couple! My goodness.  Not what I'd think of from HGTV.  The wife has a bitter personality and that becomes irritating after two minutes.  The husband is funny but the type of jokes get old.  Not classy show.  Something I would expect to see on Showcase.  I assumed this network was a bit better.

LOVING the show!! Natalie and Rod are hilarious to watch..and it's so refreshing to see a REAL couple on tv!! Somebody give Rod a tv show..i'll eat whatever he cooks!! Can't wait for next week!

a refreshing change from the couples used in the previous seasons of this show (airhead Vanessa and Derek and Jill with the screetching voice and her doormat husband), these two seem a little more-believeable and down to earth.  I hope his restaurants are cleaner than their current home.  Did they say where they got all the cash for the house? as banks are always hesitant to mortgage self-employed people

natalie has anger managent issues

January 5, 2010 10:18 AM

I thought the show was fantastic, you people who are saying Natalie has anger management issues and she is bitter should probably look more closely at yourselves. You obviously have no sense of humour! They are naturals and should be on more shows!

That HotRod is cute.  I agree that Natalie has issues, seems like she is always yelling.   BABA BOOEY

Best show on HGTV

I caught this half way through last night, and nearly died laughing.

Where and when can i see the beginning of the episode.

I want to show my husband. We're buying a house or trying to anyway.

This is the sort of thing were going through right now.

Where are the restaurants. I thought it was Toronto.

The couple is priceless.

Good Job HGTV, as if i didnt have enough shows to pvr.

We watched the first 2 seasons and will be tuning in again!

January 6, 2010 9:30 AM

Disappointed with this season...This couple is painful to watch!  Fart jokes? I've had enough of the emasculated 'husband' being bossed around by his shrewd 'wife' who calls all the shots.  Bicker Bicker! F-bombs. boo hiss. Previous seasons were enjoyable but Im tuning out on this one.

Wow Aweful!  Not the show the couple. I can't watch them.

How about replacing this "show" with "The Block" from Australia.

January 11, 2010 9:37 PM

I like the contractor, Steve. He seems like a really down to earth dude! I hope to see more of him.

January 12, 2010 9:08 AM

I agree with Holly and Iris and Sue.  Love the previous seasons, but won't be watching this season.  How and Who at HGTV picked them.  I don't find Fart jokes and F-bombs entertaining.  I would expect better from HGTV

Nobody cool lives in Corso Italia?  I take offense to that!

Seriously, the couple is cute on television.  Not like the other two seasons, the previous couples had no personality at all!

January 21, 2010 9:34 AM

Not liking this season at all.  Dont like the way they talk to one another........I remember him from another "reality" type show......Restaurant Makeover....he's had his 15 minutes of fame as far as I am concerned....
