Hotel Room Tour: The Boutique Opus Hotel, Yaletown, Vancouver

The spotlight is about to turn on the pretty city on our west coast!  I'm talking about the coming winter games of course, and in light of that, my fellow blogger CJ (foodnetwork.ca) and I organized a whirlwind tour of Vancouver and Victoria (didn't quite get to Whistler, but hey, now we've a reason to go back). 

Amidst Vancouverites buzzing about, making nice for the onslaught of visitors, we checked out some some great places to hit up if you're planning on being one of those lucky visitors.  Today, I write on a subject that's close to my heart: boutique hotels. The Opus Hotel to be exact. 

Loved it!  It's not too big, it's full of whimsy (which I appreciate) and the restaurant is absolutely lovely (more on foodnetwork.ca about that soon.)   But I won't waste your attention on words.  I've made one of my riveting hotel tour videos, and even a photo gallery for you to enjoy!

i stayed at the Opus in Vancouver for 4 nights a while back . the room was spectacular with a gas fireplace and a 40" plasma.

the food was very good and the surrounding neighborhood while a little seedy, offered a good variety of excellent restos, bars and shopping.

Really? You thought the nabe was seedy?  I thought Yaletown was a posh area...

I stayed at the Opus in Montreal (stay tuned for a video tour!) and I have to say I love the saucy couch in your room (we weren't so lucky). I, too, had an indigo room and it was very lovely. Great bed, fab bath.

Lovely. I like that room too.

And I don't know why I find that stainless steel sink in the washroom so exciting. I like it!

Appears to be a nice place, however when I travel I am not necessairly concerned with aesthetics.  To me it is more about cleanliness!  Thanks for the tour Elana.

Oh for sure!  Nothing grosser than stained carpets, mildew and unidentified musty smells. NONE of which was even a remote consideration here.  But yeah, I hear ya!
