Other than a snug from my children, hot shower, good eats, or my first sip of wine at the end of a long week, one of the most soothing moments is resting my trunk on a nice comfy seat - couch or chair, either one will do. We thought it would be interesting to check out where some of our HG'ers take a load off.
One of our very own Flickr Group members, kimhas7cats(for now), has really made sitting down mandatory. The following is an array of chairs found throughout the main functional rooms of her home. Above, the bedroom has a grand repainted wicker chair that was punched up with these loving red seat cushions, sewn by her mom, and pillow cover by a family friend.
Not only does kimhas7cats(for now) have an adoration for felines, but there is obvious need for colour. The left office has seating for two--one for a busy worker on the move and the other solar yellow guest chair for company. The wicker and rattan on the right make another appearance along side this soft white, make shift, sectional surrounded by cats and cushions.
No novice to thrifting, midcenturyjo makes a habit of circuiting the shops on a regular basis. This eco coloured egg chair, as the centerpiece, is the perfect place to sit and listen to the stories that go with all of the ethnic finds in the room.
As a parent of a newborn you know that one of the most used chairs is the one in the nursery. Whether it's mom on the feed or dad on cuddle duty, the chair in the baby's room should be comfortable for those long sleepless nights. MoModerne is prepared. Below, the comfy couch with leather ottoman close by, is the perfect set up.
We add this last one with much pride. Fulaninho joins us all the way from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Below, the chair is simple but sturdy. It was apparently popular in Brazil in the 50's. Could use something soft though, but being in that weather makes up for the steel back support.
