The Halloween of today boasts an enhanced, graphical experience of extra ghoul that would make any grown up wish he were trick or treating again. There are still quite a few enthusiasts in our HGTV Flickr Group who are trying to keep the spirits alive! I’ve come to appreciate a new kind of Halloween; ironically, one that is truly vintage. It has the nostalgia of creepy attic, organic earth tones, and the eeriness of the unknown.

Make no bones about it, Mattew1UND will be getting a haunted night's sleep. His pumpkin display, laced with traditional black crow, cat and branches invites all that belongs to the night.

Increasingly popular seems to be the subtle touches around the home to make for a mild 'Ode to Halloween.' ReeseDixon places a copper pumpkin as a dressy invitation in the foyer. ShabbySheepWool features a handmade basket of pumpkin and dried corn for all the festivities in the fall but just dark enough for a Halloween spread.

Since the general bodily fluid theme of Halloween doesn't often extend to the dinner table,
TheNewMrsC's handmade pumpkin centerpiece and
ReeseDixon's antique cauldrons (above) promote a tame but mystical meal.
Of Course, we can't forget about the main feature of the living space;
Boopsi.Daisy has incorporated the spirit of Halloween with her antiqued candle holders and burnt orange touches on the mantle (left). I would love to be there when she lights it up!
