Shop Review: Fairhome Interiors in Burlington, Ontario

Nestled into downtown Burlington’s shopping district rests Fairhome Interiors. The sleek and sophisticated interior opens to an equally stylish interior. Shoppers will find a store that houses both a home decor retail store and a decor consultation service upstairs.

Owner Janet Sachade’s style is reflected in the clever mix of traditional and modern pieces. The unexpected mix of Mennonite furniture and luxurious shaded chandeliers come off as fresh and crisp. Seasonal accessories as well as everyday essentials fill the room in artfully displayed vignettes, keeping the eye searching for what’s next. Sachade has a strong commitment to supplying mostly Canadian items, but she diverts to include a few special pieces from over seas and the States. Their extensive collection of the Emma Bridgewater tableware, a UK classic, is featured at the back of the store, snuggled cozily in a rustic hutch.

A new assortment of baby decor lines, like European Kaloo and Canadian Bizoux Bizoux, grace the shelves and offer funky or sweet items for discerning babies and their parents. A departure from the abundance of home décor items is the Brighton Jewelry Collection from California. But Sachade’s long love of the collection prompted her to share it with others.

Upstairs clients meet with Janet and other staff for decor consultation. Rows and rows of fabric books from Kravet, Robert Allen, Allendale and others pack the shelves, fulfilling any fabric lovers dream for custom drapery, bedding and upholstery.

This friendly staff is ready and willing to help, making this the ideal stop for stylish shoppers.
