Moving Mayhem: Paint Colour Overload

I am busily trying to select a colour for our walls in our new home that will go with all the wood trim and I am slowly going bug-eyed. I might be getting close because I recently narrowed it down to three colours, and when I gathered all the chits together I could hardly tell them apart! I swear I kept trying to go lighter, but every time I came back I saw they were almost identical colours!

This is Restful by Behr. This is French Grey by Farrow & Ball. This is Benjamin Moore's Comox Sage.

Now you'd think this would be easy. I would just go with the French Grey because I like that name better than the other two, but I know my designer friend, Taisa, is going to tell me these are all too dark. "It should be suggestive of a colour," she says, not an actual colour. These are clearly greeny-grey. But they're the best matches I can find to go with all my dark wood trim. This has stopped being fun and is starting to feel stressful, but right now I am hating my main floor because of the walls and poor lighting.

What do you think? Any other suggestions?

UPDATE: Here's the colour Mia used in her home, which she loves:

Barren Plain by Benjamin Moore. Pretty!

I say Behr or Moore only because F&B is expensive... They really do look similar, but I like Comox Sage the best :)

You know, I think I'm leaning that way myself... :)

I am going to have to agree with your designer friend... These are very nice colors and would look beautiful with painted out wood but PERSONALLY I think it will be too dark with the natural wood. What do they lighter shades on the chips of these colors look like?

Here's a comment from our Facebook group - which everyone should join!

"Go with the french grey and add punches of colour it sounds awesome and different lighting will make the colour lighter or darker good luck"

In a large room like a living room a darker color, for which none of those are to dark is amazing and stunning. Then Alicia is correct, just add punches of color here and there, be it a picture or some throw pillows.

There is a Facebook group? OK I'm off to join. p.s. Love the dark colours and want to see an AFTER. But you know what I really think? Those colours (any of them) would like smashing with WHITE trim.

Nice colours! Similar to what I have in my condo, but I do think my colour is a little lighter than these. It's a Ben Moore colour called Barren Plain (boringest name on earth, I  know). If I had to choose amongst these, I'd go for French Grey. I ALWAYS seem to like the most expensive choice. It's a problem.

Love the colour, Mia!! I've added it to the post above, everyone, so check it out.

Great post you got here. I'd like to read something more about this theme.
