Bargain Saturday: Mason Jars

Sometimes I think the best bargains are the most obvious ones we overlook. I'm a big fan of finding new uses for everyday items and there's certainly no shortage of mason jar crafts and ideas online. From left to right:

  • First are twinkle lights in vintage mason jars from ljc@flickr, a blogger, crafter and photography expert.
  • Next is a simple tulip arrangement in another blue-tinted mason jar from Country Living.
  • This cute idea for using mason jars as utensil holders at a picnic or bbq came from a blog called A Soft Place to Land. Blogger Kimba had her guests fill their jars with ice and lemonade once they had taken their seats and put their cutlery on the table.
  • And the mason jar lights come courtesy of Weeping Cherries, where there's a whole Mason Jar Monday category.

I found the quirky glass frames above on one of our favourite decor blogs, Design*Sponge. This is not an idea that will work in a formal dining room but would certainly be charming in a kitchen or casual family room.
