I'm feeling patriotic this week, kicking off with yesterday's post about the Top 5 icons of Canadian design, so for today's Bargain Saturday inspiration, I did one of my favourite things: trolling for vintage Canadiana like travel ads, postcards, posters and maps. Over on Etsy.com, vintage postcards abound. Check out the early 20th century knee-slapper above, featuring a smiling frontier woman gathering eggs with the caption, "No cold storage in Canada" -- it has a postmark from February 1913. I'd gift this to a newlywed friend, wouldn't it be cute in a retro-style kitchen?
