Blog Round-Up: Father's Day Crafts

While hand prints in clay and misshapen ashtrays are always sweet (Do kids still make ashtrays? Seems a little Mad Men to encourage Pops to smoke) -- here are some other Father's Day craft ideas from around the Web that are just as sentimental.

Our friends over at Design*Sponge shared this very romantic anniversary gift, which would work just as well for Dad. Grace Light of the blog and Etsy shop Poetic Home made a vintage library-style catalog of special moments for her two-year wedding anniversary. Each library-style card includes the date and a short description of the place and event -- aren't the cards authentically adorable? Light printed them out from a site that creates the vintage style cards, all you do is input the info. Of course, you could also make your own. Dad-ify this DIY by inscribing the cards with important dates in your children's lives and wait for his touched "There's something in my eye" tears of gratitude. See the Catalog of Love instructions here.

Of course we're fans of Ms. Martha Stewart and this travel-inspired collage would make a lovely personal gift for Dad. No recent vacation memories on hand? Get creative and pull together any assortment of photos and ephemera (thanks Martha for my new favourite word) -- concert stubs, menus, train tickets -- the important thing is layering different types of objects to tell a story that speaks to Dad's heart. See the instructions here.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!
