Bargain Saturdays: Cheap Summer Centrepieces

Today's bargain is also a DIY. Whether you're hosting a shower or an al fresco dinner party this summer, these easy centrepieces will class up any old picnic table. If it's a big event you're working on, like a wedding or reunion, you're probably looking for ways to save. And if you're looking for an alternative to the traditional floral arrangement, these centrepieces could lend some beachy ambience or a modern edge to your tables.

  • A quick trip to the dollar store for vases, candles and stones
  • And one to the florist or craft store for ornamental grass or shells (if you don't already have vacation souvenirs at home)
