Splurge vs. Steal: Kitchen Textiles

I'm guilty of buying the occasional overpriced textiles; tablecloths, placemats, napkins, you name it. Let's face it, we're not all doing loads of cooking and a couple of strategically-placed oven mitts and pot holders can add a little something to your kitchen decor. So, why not get a deal on these lovely patterns at Dollarama.

A total steal at $1.25 each! (Pardon the photo quality; they were snapped with my iPhone)

Of course, the quality of the textiles from Dollarama aren't going to stand the test of time for the avid cook or baker. So something with a little more weight, padding and fabric will be a lot more practical.

I love this matching pot holder and oven mitt from Anthropologie, but at $13.49 each, they're more of a splurge.

Comments:

I love linens and find them an easy way to freshen up any room reasonably inexpensively.  The dollar stores do offer lots of options for frequent changes.
