Every year, President's Choice puts on an event that makes all us home and garden industry folks a little giddy. PC reveals their latest planters, herbs, annuals, perennials, fertilizers, outdoor furniture, entertaining accessories and dining ideas for the new season. Terry, Amy and I were lucky enough to attend this year and left with a few plants of our own (we'll definitely be gardening this weekend!).
One of the best things about President's Choice is that they will recycle any plastic pots or flats -- which many regions across Canada will not. All you need to do is rinse them out and bring them to the recycling bins at any President's Choice location. Last year, they recycled over 600,000 kgs of plastic (!) that were then used to make this year's pots and flats. It's a closed-loop system, whereby materials are continuously recycled into new objects and reused, and it's green all the way.
