Makeover: Colin and Justin Bring Back the Love

This week, Colin & Justin's Home Heist was all about rekindling the love - how appropriate! Single mom Laurie shares a dark, mismatched home with her three kids. After ambushing her at a speed dating event, and declaring her home unworthy of a second date, the boys vow to make Laurie fall in love with her home all over again.

BEFORE:

The shabby-without-the-chic master bedroom (including a worn out, much loved chaise).

The cramped bathroom and cluttered living room.

AFTER:

Colin and Justin gave Laurie a romantic, bright and airy master bedroom that's definitely date-worthy. They recovered her beat-up old chaise and added sheer curtains for a feminine retreat.

But the best part of this makeover is the newly expanded family bathroom with soaker tub, glass-enclosed shower and tiled walls. Bathroom-envy, anyone?

The living room was shown some love, too, with a warm gold and dark brown colour scheme echoed in the striped fabric and fireplace makeover.

Did Laurie rekindle her love affair with her home? Absolutely.

Find out where you can pick up the items Colin & Justin used in the Episode Resource Guide. Watch full episodes of Home Heist online and see all the makeovers in the Home Heist gallery.

How would you rate this home heist?

I love the bathroom, it really does feel like a spa getaway!  Great colours in the bedroom too

Hello to these guys - theyre the best.  Anyone who can turn a black hole like that into what they did deserves a gold medal.  Fun too, thats why I watch. i like teh fun but I love the heads up on all things cool.  And I love Colin and Jasons clothes!!!!!!

Very up and chic, although I am suprised at the choices for the bedroom, as it is very contrastual to what was previously there.  Bedroom seems a little too busy with the wallpaper, not quite flowing with the neutrals throughout the rest of the house. I would have stayed with neutrals and added splashes of fun colors, keeping it restful, not overwhelming. The living room is great with a hint of fun from the cushions. Love the lighting!!! The bathroom is awesome.

Hell, that's a wicked reno'.  Home Heist seems to be going from strength to strength.  The guys do some cool projects, especially when they're doing the bright zesty ones like this.  Way to go, guys!   Always fun to watch,

We like most aspects of this massive transformation but it's an out and out winner on that living room.  Saw this particular episode on Homs and Gardens and was impressed by the way the designers turned it around by re using much of what the owners already had.  Thats good design, particularly with everyone short of money as we all are.  Very enjoyable show, G and H

Nice work guys. Would love to see what you could do if you had a massive budget like Ty Pennington. You'd be wicked on that show!

February 14, 2009 2:21 PM

To 'little old me' - easy tiger - nobody touches Ty!!!!!!!!!!  He is my major hero,  Saying that Colin and Justin seem reaklly cool and theyve clearl;y got a special way with the people they work with so they'd probably be cool on a similar 'giving' show but Ty is the only guy for Extreme. OK!!

Gotta tell you though, the Home Heist guys do an ace job, the bathroom they made out of the old shell here is astoundingly well put together.

We are in Florida for a few months and i miss my BBC channel.  You two are such a "hoot" when you were doing the British show.  Especially the arguing - that man who had wallpapered with that flower wallpaper in the lvg rm and the patterned rug - I had the same bedrm border next to the ceiling with the same pattern - i soon got rid of it and painted a narrow white border to match the ceiling and hide some of drywall "mistakes" where wall and ceiling meet - looks great now!  See you on April 16, Grace, my Toronto daughter is treating me to the "wine and treats" just to see you both.   Hugs & Kisses Marlene xoxxoxoxo

We are very excited by the great roiom room part of this reno'.  Dont get us wrong it's ALL nice but the great room black and gold is dramatic and then some.  Done on a budget too by the look of it, eh?

Good work
