Question of the Week: Wackiest "As Seen on TV" Purchase for Your Home?

Clockwise from the top: Didi Seven Cleaning Solution, Leather repair Kit, "The Clapper", The Shamwow.

And by “wacky” I really mean anything that made you smirk while you were dialing that number on your screen or clicking “Proceed with Purchase” on your computer. How many of you own some “end-of-all-cleaning-products” cleaning product, a ShamWow, that leather-patching kit or even the venerable Clapper?

By “wacky” I may also mean extreme; with the advent of Ebay and Craigslist, people are buying whole bedroom sets without ever seeing them in person. I myself have bought a few chairs online that turned out less fabulous than expected, and my husband bought a motorcycle on Ebay that he drove half way across the country to pick up.

I’m sure you’ve got your own home-shopping stories, and if not yours, tell your friends’!

That shammy commercial makes me laugh a lot. The guy in the ad is really "New York" (or is it Jersey?); really in your face and matter-of-fact-like, "Eh oh, oh eh, get this shammy!"

I have bought some sort of juicer and some product that was supposed to make my nails grow. Neither worked. Boo!

Once I was brainwashed by a Tobi Steamer commercial. I called a few times, thankfully the line was busy.

Never have purchased anything off of the T.V., however have done online purchasing but from only reputable dealers for products that I couldn't find in this backward city called Ottawa.....smiles.    (The range of items have been quite variable (no furniture), ranging from 'mitten clips',  to 'Nascar items' etc.  As said, basically items I could just not find.)

I bought a BEDAZZLER for my sister in law :)

My three young boys were so amazed and constantly making reference to how we need MIGHTY PUTTY on TV that my mother as a joke bought some for my husband this past Christmas (it was a hit with the boys)- we've yet to use it to tell you how fabulous it either is or isn't.

Where did Linda Reeves buy her dark wood, mesh back dinning room chairs? I have been looking all over Victoria, B.C. for this look. (French meets Thai)

My fiance sculpted a new handle for our microwave with MIGHTY PUTTY!

Its the best thing since sliced bread!

Tried the DiDi Seven and it did work. The leather and vinyl repair kit..waste of money.

I hear those Debby Meyer Green Bags work really well too.
