Photo Challenge: "What Project Are You Most Proud Of" Winner

We got such a fantastic response to our "What Project Are You Most Proud Of" photo challenge, it was really difficult to choose just three winners. We finally chose our favourites and have included all three in the gallery below, plus some you just have to see.

Our grand prize winner is Shelley Jon Bruce of Burlington, Ontario for her amazing cottage reno in Honey Harbour (above and in the gallery). I love how bright the space looks afterwards. The light wood lends a sophisticated rustic air. Also, the bunkie is the perfect little shabby chic hideaway. The chandelier is an adorable touch. Shelley wins a pair of Moxie Trades work boots!

Our first runner up is Constance Gignac from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She gave her bathroom a style overhaul by ripping down tacky wallpaper, replacing the sink and toilet, reglazing the bathtub, nickel-plating the tub's feet and adding white wainscoting below the sunny yellow upper walls. Constance wins a Moxie Trades tool belt.

Finally, our second runner-up, Janet Lance from Corbeil, Ontario took on a huge painting job. She didn't just paint one room in the house her husband built for their son, she painted the whole house, including all the doors and window trim. I've included a photo of Janet in her painting gear. She wins a Moxie Trades tool belt she can use when she and her husband take on another house building project for their youngest son.

The rest of the photos come courtesy of Karen and her fantastic fireplace, Lesley's tween bedroom makeover for her boyfriend's daughter Sarah and Barbara's much-needed kitchen reno.

i really like what youve done bringing it from outdated to a sort of rustic style. it looks a lot brighter and more up beat. i love the island and the wood pillar, it gives an 'old country' feel. congrats

Thanks Domenica for your comments.  The wood beams are from my husbands family farm in Grand Valley Ont.  We trailered them up to Honey Harbour and barged them over to the island.  The island was built by our dear friend in 2 pieces and brought over by boat.  The rest is just painted old panelling.  At least now our girls will now stay there!!!!
