Canadian Paper and Textile Designers Finally Get Website!

Schoolyard Studio Tea Towels, $25

I’m super excited for this because this eco design duo is one of my faves.  Schoolyard Studio is the name, and I couldn’t really share them with you earlier because their website was a no-go and I know how you guys don’t love it when we post things that are only available to Torontonians.

Well, I’m glad to say that their website is now up and running, and it may just become your new favourite go-to for eco gifts and original finds.

Schoolyard is a collaboration between designers Katy Chan and Hilary Dennis, based out of a screen-printing studio in Toronto.  They’re basically print junkies who get their inspiration for everything they love: the city, the ‘50s, nature and eco-responsibility.  Everything they make is hand-printed on recycled, reclaimed and/or organic material.

Two of my favourite products are their wallpapers and tea towels, but they also do a line of greeting cards, calendars, bags, baby bibs and onezies, pajamas and even underwear.  Unfortunately, their wallpaper (left), is not on their website, but I’m pretty sure it’s still in production so if you’re interested – and I suspect you will be – contact the girls through their site for details.   You can also contact them through their blog.

Has anyone else seen their stuff?

Way to go Torontonian gals!

I checked out their website and they indeed have a nice line of varied

items, however I would like to know some more about their products.

ie: Their ANTI-BACTERIAL  hemp/linen blend Tea Towels.  Are they treated or is it because they are made with a natural fibre,  etc. etc.  I feel more  information  would be beneficial for the public and for  their Marketing strategy.

Wishing them future success in their business endeavours.

Sincerely..........

OK so this is totally off the subject but did anyone see Rick Rossovich on House Hunters International (the episode in Sweden). He was helping his son find a home for art school. I always wondered what happened to Rick. For those who don't remember, Rick was "Slider" on Top Gun. He did a few other movies after but that was the role that I always remembered him in. He must be doing well but I wonder what it is he does now?

I went to their website to purchase products and it was difficult to navigate. Also their tea-towels are not soft and are not absorbent. Good effort, but poorly made products. I don't mind paying a lot of money for good products, but their stuff isn't worth it.
